Production- Evaluation

Overall my music video went well, I was able to communicate my creative and practical media skills by planning and editing a feminisms themed music video. The aim was to educate and inspire which I think comes across in the video. It reflects my artist, Cinthia Rose, as it raises awareness about the feminist's cause.

My website reflects the artist well as it includes the signature red lipstick which ties into the video. It carries symbolism of strength and beauty which links into the feminism theme. I believe that not only does my video represent my artist to be strong and educated, but it gives a diverse ethnic and gender representation in society, featuring both male and female actors of different ethnic backgrounds.

Despite the positives, I struggled with editing my video and had to change the plan. Originally I planned to edit the women in black and white and have their lips red in contrast to create the motif of red lipstick while sticking to the black and white theme to communicate the time the scenes were set in. However I believed the editing reduced the quality of the piece since it looked unrealistic, so I decided to stick with the use of black and white to create an accurate historical feel.

With the filming and editing of the music video being more difficult than i anticipated, it was a challenge to produce a high quality and innovative music video which conveyed the protest brief well. However, I believe I overcame that challenge and created an original piece of media which meets the set brief, and conveys a realistic music video style for my artist.
